Courtyard Care Limited believe that all children and young people should have the opportunity to experience, develop, grow and take part in all aspects of daily living irrespective of their abilities. Without this belief we will never assist children and young people reach their full potential and achieve their future aspirations

With this in mind we are truly committed to nurturing and encouraging an atmosphere of “anything is possible” until proven otherwise, even then we will do our best to find a good solution.

Therefore we have selected and recruited staff members who also believe in this philosophy and actually live this value in everyday life.


  • Promoting the wellbeing of individual children and young people: this is based on understanding how children and young people develop and responding to their changing needs at the earliest possible time.
  • Putting the child at the centre: children and young people should have their views listened to and they should be involved in decisions that affect them.

  • Supporting informed choice: supporting children and  young people and their families in understanding what help is possible and what their choices may be.
  • Respecting confidentiality and sharing information: seeking agreement to share information that is relevant and proportionate while safeguarding children and young people’s right to confidentiality.
  • Making the most of bringing together each worker’s expertise: respecting the contribution of others and cooperating with them, recognising that sharing responsibility does not mean acting beyond a worker’s competence or responsibilities.
  • Continuous Improvement: Allowing our team members opportunities to learn, develop and improve their practice to meet our collective goals.

To help us maintain and build upon these values we have introduced a number of vital processes for all our staff to guide them in meeting and monitor this commitment.


  • Transparency in all our services (for children, young people and significant others i.e. social workers, families etc)
  • The children and young people are central in all our work activity.
  • Open and honest communication at all levels.
  • Active and ‘live’ monitoring of placement plans and achievements/outcomes.
  • Rigorous self-reflective practice for all staff at every level.
  • External Quality Assurance provider completing monthly visits.
  • Active financial management to ensure sufficient funds to fulfil the commitment to these values and principles.
